Healthy Puppies…

Posted by b4andafter - 30/03/09 at 08:03 am

So I was joking with G this weekend that I was going to find a way to put some pictures of our puppies up on my blog… even though they aren’t completely relevant to my fitness theme… I was just too darned excited to have snapped such a cute picture of them ;-)

Anyway here goes: I was a bit concerned at first… but I’m happy to say that our puppies Boston (9 months) and Brooklyn (2 months) are now best buddies!

G and I took them out to an open field yesterday to let them run and once they were all tired out I was able to snap this photo… aren’t they just the cutest puppies ever?

I am really looking forward to the future when I can jog longer distances with Boston. He does ok now… but when he gets tired he just sits down (no matter where we are) as if in protest. I think he’ll be more fitness ready once he reaches a year old (now I don’t feel so bad about this unrelated post because technically it IS fitness related!)…

Still climbing…

Posted by b4andafter - 30/03/09 at 08:03 am

Since the Climb Tampa challenge I’ve decided to keep stair training. It’s just such a great all body workout and I’d like to improve my time so I can compete in some more stair climbing events. I will also be walking more in preparation for my marathon and integrating some pilates routines into my weekly workouts.

This morning I completed a biggest loser circuit routine and climbed on the elliptical for 15 minutes and 47 seconds. That’s 914 steps and 143 calories.

After the Climb Tampa event (914 steps) and this morning’s workout (914 steps), I’ve reached these virtual heights:

1. Millennium Dome, England 21 flights (320 steps)
2.Sydney Opera House, Australia 28 flights (425 steps)
3. Clifton Suspension Bridge, England 33 flights (490 steps)
4. Big Ben, England 42 flights (632 steps)
6. BT Tower, Birmingham, England 66 flights (997 steps)
7. Blackpool Tower, England 69 flights (1,036 steps)
8. Seattle Space Needle, USA 78 flights (1,164 steps)
9. Canary Wharf Tower, England 107 flights (1,600 steps)

I now have 1,000 steps left until I reach my next virtual height:
10. Petronas Twin Towers, Malaysia 190 flights (2,860 steps)

Slacking on my fashion goals a bit…

Posted by b4andafter - 30/03/09 at 08:03 am

… but I’ve got good reason! I was sick all last week but happy to announce that I am coming back from being “bummy”. I’ve even got pictures of a few outfits I wore before getting sick. I’ll start with today’s outfit:

My favorite orange jacket paired with my creme two piece top and skirt. My shoes are gold ballerina flats…

… and I couldn’t resist another top-model pose with my cropped teal sweater, black tank and black trousers…

This day I was also working on another goal of mine (wear my hair in different styles)… I’ve got a ways to go with that one! Anyway, the outfit consists of my favorite green jacket with a blue-green top that I got from the thrift store for only $2! Gotta love it :-)
